Your doula takes a holistic, multi-disciplinary approach to non-medical palliative care, crafting a personalized plan that nurtures you through emotional, spiritual, and practical guidance. We can also arrange music, healing touch, and aromatherapy to further enhance your comfort. Additionally, doulas offer short-term respite care for family caregivers and can provide companionship during vigils, either alongside or in place of your loved ones. If needed, we may also refer you to legal and financial professionals. Your doula’s role in providing peace of mind is limitless.
As you approach the end of life, your personal and professional relationships—whether with family, friends, co-workers, clergy, healthcare providers, or legal and financial advisors—shouldn't be neglected. In fact, this may be an ideal time to strengthen and renew these connections. Your end-of-life doula can help facilitate this by assisting you in reconnecting or reaching out to those important to you.
Little Aspen welcomes clients who have been diagnosed with a terminal or life-limiting illness. You may still be receiving curative treatments when we begin working with you. Unlike hospice, we do not require a prognosis of six months or less, nor do we have specific certification requirements to enter our program. Our philosophy is that end-of-life care should start when you are ready, on your terms.
We offer an affordable, competitive, hourly rate of $60/hour with no minimum number of hours required. For those who qualify, a sliding-scale hourly rate is available. Little Aspen will invoice you monthly. We accept credit cards, cash, and personal checks. Unfortunately, at this time, end-of-life doula services are not covered by insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid.
